Whenever there has been new technology emerging, there has also been naysayers. They said commercial air travel would never usurp the passenger train. They said that people would never pay for cable television when broadcast is free. They said that cell phones cause brain tumors. And there is always valid research and data to support the criticism, but we move forward anyway because we can see the advantages.
A blog at infoworld.com admits that there are valid concerns with moving critical data to the cloud, but those concerns should really fall into the “calculated risk bucket” and not the “deal breaker bucket” .
In fact it has become imperative to overcome those concerns because the cloud presents game changing advantages and the risks involved in not adopting some form of the cloud is much higher. After all, a business can’t grow without moving forward.
