Broad General Ledger Functionality in Dynamics GP on myGPcloud

The general ledger functionality available in both Business Essentials (Plus) and Advanced Management (Plus) provides plenty of flexibility to ensure that you maintain a high level of control and reporting flexibility with your accounting system.  These are some of the features and benefits:

  • User defined chart of account structure, with up to 10 segments
  • Additional analysis available by adding account modifiers without adding accounts
  • Statistical account to track non-financial activity and include in reporting
  • Fixed and variable allocation accounts
  • “Soft” close of accounting periods, controlled by fiscal calendar, to allow restricted transaction posting to prior periods
  • Ability to automatically create reversing and correcting entries from previously posted transaction

  • Post in batch or online; you decide by transaction type
  • Batch approval requirement available by transaction type
  • Extensive drill-down to budget and actual transactions, and originating documents
  • Intercompany transactions from various modules post to other company databases and keep intercompany accounts in balance
  • Ability to easily attach supporting notes and files to transactions

The general ledger provides the basis for proper accounting control and reporting and is fully integrated with other areas of Dynamics GP.
